This warranty is given only to the original purchaser of the products and is for a period of 20 years from the original date of purchase.

To be entitled to make a claim under this warranty you must keep your original proof of purchase receipt.

The Australian Consumer Law

The benefits given by the warranty set out in this document are in addition to any other rights and remedies you may have under a law in relation to the goods to which the warranty relates.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

What this warranty covers

  • A H Beard gives to the original purchaser a 20 year warranty on the mattress or base against defects in workmanship and materials.
  • If during the period of 20 years from the date of your purchase of this product, a defect caused by faulty workmanship or materials appears, A H Beard will repair or replace the defective product or part within a reasonable time after receiving the defective product or part under a valid warranty claim.
  • The cost of transportation and labour will be borne in accordance with the table in the section headed "Who pays for the repair or replacement".
  • A H Beard reserves the right to substitute products or parts of equal or better quality, and to use or deliver refurbished products or parts in the repair or replacement of any product or part under this warranty.

What this warranty does not cover

This warranty does not cover:

  • Conditions arising from normal wear and tear including mattress cover compression, foam compression or discolouration of components.
  • A mattress or base that, on inspection by A H Beard is found to be stained or in an unsanitary condition.
  • Bent or broken castors or legs, loose T-nuts inside the base, caused by castor legs not having been kept sufficiently tight or other broken fittings caused by poor maintenance.
  • Damage from tampering with any part or opening the Firmness Control System or the remote.
  • Damage of the product or part from misuse, abuse or neglect negligence including folding, bending, standing on or jumping on the mattress or base.
  • Damage from acts of God including lightning and flooding.
  • Damage from power surge, regardless of the source.
  • Products or parts that have been sold, transferred or otherwise disposed of by the original purchaser.

Except as expressly stated, this warranty does not include any right to be reimbursed or compensated for physical or financial injury, loss, damage, expense, time or inconvenience (whether direct or indirect) arising out of the occurrence of the defect in the mattress or base or your inability to use the mattress or base.

The repair or replacement of a product or part under this warranty will not extend the 20 year warranty period given to the original purchaser under this warranty.

How to claim under your warranty

  • To be entitled to make a claim under your warranty you must:
    • tell us of the defect within 30 days after it has appeared;
    • provide us with your full name and address and details of the defect; and
    • provide us with your original proof of purchase receipt.
  • You can notify us of the defect and make a claim by contacting A H Beard's Customer Centre by telephone on 1300 654 000 or by sending an email to serviceteam@ahbeard.com or a pre-paid letter to A H Beard Pty Limited, PO Box 41 Padstow NSW 2211.
  • We will tell you where your nearest authorised service centre is so that you can arrange for the return of the defective product or part.
  • You will be responsible for returning the defective product or part, in a sanitary condition, to your nearest authorised service centre and for picking up the repaired or replaced product or part when it is ready.

Who pays for the repair or replacement?

  • The cost of repairing or replacing the defective product or part will be in accordance with the following table:

    Up to 2 years A H Beard pays for approved transportation costs for the product or part between original purchaser and authorised service centres A H Beard bears the cost of repair or replacement
    2-20 years Original purchaser pays for transportation of the product or part between original purchaser and authorised service centre. Original purchaser pays 20% of price plus 4% of price for each year from original date of purchase (see example below).
  • The "price" referred to in the table is the price of the defective product or part at the time the claim under the warranty is made, or the price of a comparable product or part if the original product or part is no longer in production.
  • Example: if a warranty claim is made 12 years after the original purchase date, the cost to the original purchaser would be 68% of the price (that is, 20% plus 4% for each of the 12 years) and A H Beard would be responsible for the remaining 32% of the price.
  • You will be responsible for the installation of parts repaired or replaced under this warranty including labour costs.

How to claim your costs incurred in accordance with the above table

Unless otherwise stated in this document you will bear the cost of claiming under this warranty. If you make a claim and you have incurred labour or transportation costs, approved by A H Beard before they were incurred, and which directly relate to the repair of the mattress or base and, under the table above A H Beard is responsible to pay these costs, please send your receipt as proof of payment of these costs to A H Beard at PO Box 41 Padstow NSW 2211 and A H Beard will reimburse you the costs incurred.
